Namik Glacier trail

Namik Glacier trail

Overview

Namik glacier is one of the least trekked places in the rugged Garhwal Himalayas.Untouched by the din of civilisation, and unscathed by the concrete jungle which accompanies any, this wild trail is one of the most picturesque, that the himalayas have to offer.Along this trekking trail one sees the awe inspiring beauty of the Nanda devi, Nanda Kot, and Trishul. These peaks are some of the highest and most splenderous in this region.A painters pallette couldn't have done more justice to the views along this trail, than Mother nature has done in her abundance.  The trail is dotted with pristine villages harbouring ancient temples. They all vibrate of strong local culture, which is so typical of these isolated settlements. Each tiny hamlet along this trek seems to have its own niched identity, in the middle of this rugged, unforgiven terrain. Here Mother Nature seems to embrace man into her arms rather than man embracing her.Man is so much at the mercy of the elements here, that it surely humbles and awes at the same time. The culture here is an intricate mingling of indo tibetian customs and traditions. The trail, for the most part follows the Ranganga river, through lush green forests and open meadows.Pack your bags, put on your 'travelling shoes' and behold the magic of the Himalayas. If you are seeking a respite from the trudgery of city life, then this is the perfect escape.
