Saurkundi trek is an awesome adventure, every step promises adrenaline rush and spectacular views of the Himalayan range. It is located in the district of Kullu. On this trek, we cover a vast variety of topography starting from verdant forests to undulating valleys of wild flowers. the adventure begins once you leave Manali behind and make your way to Kanyal village which is the base camp for Saurkundi trek. This is a beautiful Himalayan hamlet, tucked away in obscurity, and hence provides the perfect spot to leisure around and get acclimatized to the altitude. This is very important at these altitudes, as it saves many a nose bleed and headaches. From here, next day make your way to Riyushpad. The trekking path is strewn with waterfalls and flanked by forests and deep gorges. Its a true pleasure to discover your path in these parts, the desolation and the excitement of being the pathfinder is the ultimate euphoria for any trekker. The next halt would be at Baggi which is the second base camp. On the way to Baggi, the climb is steep till Dudu Patar, but then gradually slopes down to the Baggi thatch, which is nothing but a expansive grassland, abundant in wildflowers and temperate shrubs. Next day prepare yourself for the experience of Saurkundi. On the way, enjoy the panoramic view of Mt Deotibba and Mt. Indrasan, with interspersed glaciers and other peaks of the himalayan range. This trek is a day long excursion, and is both breath taking in view and altitude. By night fall, return to Baggi. Next day, from Baggi, make your way back to Dug. Spend the evening in leisure, resting your tired limbs. Day after that, trek back to base camp and hence forth to Manali, thus concluding your exciting trek.
