Overview

The journey starts from Darjeeling.It is well connected to Kolkata by rail, road and air.Darjeeling used to be known as the 'Queen of hills' during it s glory years of the British Raj. Much of it's natural beauty has been encroached upon by incessant commercialisation.Darjeeling is best known for the panaromic view of the Kanchenjungha that it offers. It is also famous for it's Dhirdham temple, Mountaineering institute, and World heritage Darjeeling railway toy train. From here, drive down to Dhotrey and then trek to Tumling.Next stop would be at Kalipokhri. It is a picturesque and smooth trek between these two places. The fresh mountain air and rustle of the pine trees is ever so refreshing. These forests are famous for the Red panda and exotic orchids. Atleast  600 varieties of orchids are said to be found in this region alone. But both the red panda and wild orchids are as elusive as ever and is difficult to spot for the unwitting eye. From kalpokhri trek to sandakhphu. From here you can see the glorious view of everest, kanchenjungha, and makalu. it completely justifies being called the trekker's paradise. From here start your descent towards Gurdum which is as picturesque as it's predecessors. After this halt travel to Srikola which is the last chapter of your journey. Catch a bus to Darjeeling and conclude your Himalayan getaway.

  6. Sandakhphu to Gurdum(2910 mts 14 km trek)
  7. Gurdum to Rimbik(2286mts, 10 kms trek)
  8. Rimbik to  Darjeeling
  9. Darjeeling to Kolkata
