Yadakumeri trek

Overview

Sakleshpura is around 230 kms from Bangalore and Donigal is 7 kms further up on NH-48. The railway track connects Hassan to Mangalore and passes through the western ghats past Sakleshpura. It runs around NH-48 near Donigal, But gradually moves to the south of highway. The track passes through the stations Yedakumeri and Shirabagilu and then crosses the Subramanya road, which connects Subramanya with the NH48 at Gundya. This railway track is a unique beautiful trail in the whole Southern railways of India because of dense green forest which it hides in itself. This stretch of the track with length about 52+ kms has around 50+ tunnels and bridges with length varying from few meters to 0.5 km and height varying from few meters to few hundred meters. Not to forget numerous streams en route.

Itinerary

1 Night / 2 Days

Day 1 : Over night journey to Sakleshpura ~ 230 Km By Bus
Day 2 : Reach Sakleshpura - Yedukmeri station (Camping) ~ 12 Km trek.
Day 3 : Trek to  Donigal - Bangalore ~ 17 Km Trek, 257 km by Bus.
           Overnight journey
Day 4 : Arrive at Bangalore.
